Fr Paddy Boyle was appointed by Archbishop Diarmuid Martin, as Chaplain to the Deaf Community succeeding Fr. Gerard Tyrrell. Fr Paddy was ordained a priest in 1984.
His association with the Deaf Community goes back to his childhood. His mother could sign, and she had close friends in the Deaf Community. His sister Yvonne was secretary to St. Mary’s School for some years. Before becoming chaplain, Fr Paddy would often celebrate Mass with the Deaf Community, either in Drumcondra or in the new Emmaus Chapel. Fr Paddy has also been Chairman of Holy Family School for the Deaf since 2016.
